Red 02:51
I'm going where the sun burns and the heat stays at command. Come and lay by my side come and lay right here. To where the river burns to dust and God is never rushed. Come and lay by my side come and lay right here. Red I need you and the world. The buzzing, the stink, and the smell yeah it's choking me, uh huh. Come and lay by my side come and lay right here. You'll be dressed in a cloud. I'll be singing out my tune real loud. Come and lay by my side come and lay right here. Red I love you and the world. And it seemed to make sense when Brother Santo said one more run be enough; gonna be enough to be enough money for everything: silver toed boots and gasoline. Come and lay by my side come and lay right here. Red, I worry about you in the world. When I see you behind the glass I forget that I'm in the cage. They took me to Sunday mass but they never wiped away the rage. Red I need you and the world. Seven months and seven years to go, Red, I can't stay no more. Come and lay by my side come and lay right here. Before the fog and smoke, where the sun don't lay my head, come and lay by my side. Come and lay right here. Red I need you and the world. Red I love you and the world.

Shrouded window I hope that one day you break and the sun will come back to my home. But even the light at your seams seems so empty and not like any sunlight I have felt before. I hope that my skin's not too used to the dark. I've gotten used to the dark. The light from the TV, shrouded window, you let cradle me into my night. Though the remotes just a few feet from my hands, I can't find a way to turn it off tonight. I know none of this can be sustained. Is there another way to pass the day? No I'm no coward and all hands callous to hurt have guided themselves through the pain. But, shrouded window, I'd hoped that you'd break without my callous hands mangled in your frame. I hope I just need to step outside. God it feels so good to be outside. With no end in sight I should ask, shrouded window, what is the plan if you're going to stay? We can pretend by the light of the TV that there's just not enough time in the day. That would be enough for my concerns and leave a little time for things to turn. Shrouded window, I hope that one day you break. Though you've been so much of my life, the comfort from keeping you 'round is enough to prevent any real living of my life. So I know none of this can be sustained. Is there another way to numb the pain?

Hours lost to the morning. Just to dream of what distracts me from the hours in my day. I don't pretend to understand it or expect it to go my way. I just lay here 'til the day has passed away. Linen heated by my furnace there; by the post where you'll never rest your head. Could it be that it's your ghost here who's been warming me instead. Could you stay here 'til the night has passed away. Ghost who holds my hands at night, I wonder where you go by the first light of the dawn. I don't pretend to need your company, but I miss you when you're done. Yet you're gone still as the morning moves along. Yet you leave still as the morning moves along.

Castles made of sand keep me off balance. I find it hard to meet the challenges that we have at hand. I try not to ask where this is going. Rare is the night where I find the lights on and I think you're home. Where do the dogs lay when you rest your head? Up in the air or without care by the foot of your bed? Between home and Ohio, home and LA, the fog brings echoes of your gentle heartbeat to ease in the day. We build castles made of sand. Despite the pain of them washing away just to know that we can.
